Where would we be without imagination?
Still in the stone-age probably, but without the wheel, as someone had to imagine this round sided thingy and how it could be used, before actually shaping it into a reality.
All of our current reality has been firstly shaped by someone’s imagination. The phone or computer you’re reading this on didn’t grow on a tree, someone had to think it up. And someone, probably lots of someones, said, ‘that’s crazy, it’ll never work, why even bother?’
But they did, and here we are.
You don’t need to be an inventor, you shape your life by your imagination every single day. If you imagine that work’s going to suck today, then it will! But if you imagine that good things will come to you then they will, even if it’s a stress free day or a smile from a co-worker who’s usually grumpy. Your imagination gives you your unique perspective on life and takes you in the direction you want to go.
Where do you want to go?
Take 5, sit down, close your eyes and think about where you’d like to be in 5 years. What job you’re doing, where you’re living, who you’re living with, your lifestyle, what car you drive: the whole shebang. Think about what you really want in life – use your imagination.
Then, start taking steps in that direction. Even teensy tiny baby steps will help.
